Martin County Community Foundation Awards

Ten Treasure Coast non-profit organizations received nearly $345,000 in grants from The Frances Langford Fund for Martin County during a reception at the Dolphin Bar and Shrimp House in Jensen Beach. The largest grant, $95,605, went to House of Hope to build a produce packing center to improve nutrition for at-risk populations.

Dancing with the Martin Stars

Dancing with the Martin Stars presented by Martin County Healthy Start Coalition took place at The Lyric Theatre with a sponsors' reception at Flagler Place before the event. Contestants performed in front of a full house, helping to raise $177,500. Maggie Slobasky and Travis Scott took home the first place title.

Swinging Fore The ARC Golf Tournament

The ARC of Martin County held its annual Swinging Fore the ARC Golf Tournament at Piper's Landing Yacht and Country Club in Palm City. The two-day event included an evening cocktail party and auction in addition to golf festivities.

Hobe Sound Nature Center Benefit

Hobe Sound Nature Center's “Whatever the Weather: Jim Cantore Has It Covered” benefit took place at the Jupiter Island Club's Golf House to raise funding for the Nature Center's programs, operating expenses and scholarships for school children for attending our programs.

The Farm Dog Rescue held its inaugural “Black Tie & Tails” charity fundraising event at Ristorante Claretta in Palm City, raising more than $30,000. The “Coming Home” themed event celebrated the love stories of all the animals adopted in the organization's first year.

Geoffrey C. Smith Galleries Season Opener

Geoffrey C. Smith Galleries in Port Salerno hosted the opener for its collectors. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres were served as guests mingled throughout the gallery filled with sculptures and paintings.

Soroptimist International of Stuart ‘Women of Distinction’ Awards

Hosted at Mariner Sands Country Club, the Women of Distinction awards acknowledged four women for their extraordinary work in the community. This year’s winners included Dr. Lisa Grassam Smith, Anita Cocoves, Mariam McKinney Carpenter and Caroline Nolan.

The Young Professionals of Martin County ‘Boss Babes’

Women gathered at the Stuart Center for Couples & Families for connections, friendship and fun. The annual all ladies after-hours focused on celebrating and inspiring “boss babes” in the community. Refreshments were provided as the women enjoyed custom wood signs, hair braiding and brow shaping stations, and shopped discounted clothes and accessories.

Woman’s Club VIP Cocktail Party

Nearly 150 guests attended the VIP cocktail party hosted by Audi Stuart, honoring the homeowners, supporters and Club's Committee members who made the seventh annual Holiday Home Tour possible. The Home Tour gives hundreds of particpants a glimpse at some of Stuart's gorgeous homes decked out in dazzling holiday decor. The Woman's Club provided $26,000 in college scholarships in 2015.

New Horizons ‘Flamingle’

Board Director Mary Baysinger hosted New Horizons of the Treasure Coast and Okeechobee's “Flamingle” at her waterfront home in Palm City for a meet-and-mingle with friends and neighbors interested in learning more about the organization. Some 50 guests met the newly appointed CEO of New Horizons, George Shopland, as well as Congressman Brian Mast and State Representative Toby Overdorf.

Clients enjoyed cocktails and appetizers while touring the historical 1925 Marvista Estate in Stuart. The client appreciation party held a toy drive with donations going to Place of Hope.

‘Summer of ’69’ Opening Celebration

The Elliott Museum flashed back to 1969 with more than 300 people dressed as hippies gathered to celebrate the opening reception for the “Summer of ‘69” exhibition showing in the museum's Changing Gallery. The exhibit honors the 50th anniversaries of the crew of Apollo 11's landing on the Moon, the Miracle Mets, the war in Vietnam and Woodstock.

StarStruck Theatre Cocktail Party

Patricia Lambrecht hosted the private party at her Palm Beach home in celebration of StarStruck Theatre’s building purchase, bringing StarStruck’s dream of having a "forever home" to fruition. The party also marked the launch of the non-profit Children’s Theatre capital improvement campaign to revitalize the nearly 20-year-old building with necessary maintenance and upgrades.

Dine Around Hobe Sound Progressive Dinner

The seventh annual Dine Around Hobe Sound Progressive Dinner kicked-off at Loblolly with hors d'oeuvres and cocktails. Themed cuisine included “Havana Nights,” “Tuscan Feast,” “It's 5:00 Somewhere,” “Crab Boil” and more. A dessert and nightcap after-party took place at Flash Beach Grille.

Healthy Glow Airbrush Tanning Grand Opening

The first of its kind on the Treasure Coast, Healthy Glow Airbrush Tanning celebrated a soft opening at its new studio in Jensen Beach. Owner Susan Brand offers customized airbrush tanning to anyone interested in a “healthy glow.” Raffles and giveaways included contributions from many local beauty businesses.

Young Life Martin County Golf Classic

A gathering of 100 golfers descended on Sailfish Point Country Club to support Young Life Martin County. Participants enjoyed lunch and an afternoon of golf, followed by more guests arriving for a silent auction and dinner. Proceeds supported YLMC ministries, which sends kids to Young Life camps across the southeast.

Molly’s House Polo Classic

The annual Polo Classic benefiting Molly’s House raised more than $60,000 for the organization. This outing brings internationally known polo players to the Port Mayaca Polo Club in Okeechobee for a day of competition and fun, in addition to a “best hat” contest, a dressage presentation, a special VIP party, a car show and the traditional halftime Champagne divot stomp.
