The ARC of Martin County’s ‘An Evening of Entertainment’ Gala

The ARC of Martin County celebrated its perennial gala fundraiser “An Evening of Entertainment” at the Wyndham Grand Harbourside Place in Jupiter. The affair generated $170,000 to support programs that serve children and adults who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Hobe Sound Chamber Member Breakfast

Roughly 95 attendees gathered at the Hobe Sound Bible College for the Hobe Sound Chamber Membership Breakfast. Stuart Magazine sponsored the breakfast with publisher Kim Capen as a speaker. The guest speaker was Joan Rogers from the MC Realtors Association, who discussed recent local real estate trends. Meetings are held as networking and educational opportunities for Chamber members and guests.

The Women’s Council of Realtors Purse Auction

The Women's Council of Realtors held its 13th annual Purse Auction themed “Diamonds and Pearls” at the Stuart Yacht and Country Club, during which a selection of 75 purses was displayed. A portion of the proceeds benefited Friends in Pink and Operation 300 (Bahamas relief funds).

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer kick off

Set at Hutchinson Island Marriott Beach Resort & Marina, the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer kick-off event featured MC Scott Bristow from Scott 93.7 GYL, guest speaker Denise Sanderson, M.D., a trivia game from Tony Solomon as well as the revealing of the Real Men Wear Pink candidates. The walk took place at Stuart Memorial Park.

The American Cancer Society’s ‘Stomp Out Cancer’ Event

The South Florida Shooting Club set the tone for the Cattle Baron’s Ball, where 180 cowboys and cowgirls gathered to raise money in the fight to end cancer. Guests enjoyed cocktails while bidding on silent auction items. Dinner was provided in a decorated outdoor tent with live entertainment. Through sponsorships, attendance, auction and mission donations, the American Cancer Society raised nearly $100,000. 

Martin Health System Chrysanthemum Ball

Guests met at Stuart Jet Center for the Chrysanthemum Ball, which raised $970,000 for a neurointerventional biplane fluoroscopy system at Martin Health System. Soon, the center will be able to offer biplane fluoroscopy to patients who have suffered an ischemic stroke

‘Summer of ’69’ Opening Celebration

The Elliott Museum flashed back to 1969 with more than 300 people dressed as hippies gathered to celebrate the opening reception for the “Summer of ‘69” exhibition showing in the museum's Changing Gallery. The exhibit honors the 50th anniversaries of the crew of Apollo 11's landing on the Moon, the Miracle Mets, the war in Vietnam and Woodstock.

‘Gateway to the Arts’ Grand Opening

Nearly 170 attendees came out to the new arts literacy studio located in Golden Gate, funded by a three-year grant awarded to the Library Foundation of Martin County. Classes and workshops, with a focus on appreciation and understanding of the arts, will be free and open to the public, and will function as a means for bringing cultural value to the community.
