Young Professionals Installation Luncheon
The Young Professionals of Martin County welcomed new board members while giving thanks and bidding adieu to those leaving the organization. The installation luncheon was held at Carmela’s Brick Oven Pizza in Stuart. YPMC is a networking group that brings goal-oriented and socially active people (primarily in their 20s and 30s) together for professional and personal gain.
Economic Council Of Martin County Leadership Dinner
More than 170 members and guests gathered for the organization’s 31st annual event at the Elliott Museum in Stuart. Dan Carmody was the Council’s 2016 chairman and Adam Putnam, Florida’s Commissioner of Agriculture, delivered the keynote address, and was awarded the Council’s 2016 Chairman’s Leadership Award.

The Friends of the Martin County Library System held “Booked for Lunch” at Piper’s Landing Yacht and Country Club in Palm City with author Scott Eyman as the featured speaker. Martin health foundation’s annual ‘chrysanthemum ball’
More than 400 patrons attended the 22nd annual charity gala held at Fair Wind Air Charter in Stuart. The "Mum Ball" has earned a reputation for providing high-quality entertainment, fine cuisine and an energetic atmosphere in truly extraordinary surroundings. This year’s future-themed event raised more than $650,000 to support cardiovascular enhancements at the Frances Langford Heart Center at Martin Health.

Mary's Shelter celebrated its ninth annual Fashion Show & Luncheon at Willoughby Golf Club with WPTV News Channel 5's Kelley Dunn as the emcee for the program. Guests enjoyed a fashion show hosted by the Seaside Sisters in addition to auction items and vendor boutiques.

‘BAREFOOT ON THE BEACH’ benefit
Stuart residents and local advocates kicked off their shoes on the beach for a seaside soirée benefiting the Florida Oceanographic Society. The 65 guests enjoyed live music, hors d’oeuvres and tropical cocktails while dancing and relaxing poolside on the patio of the Courtyard by Marriott on Hutchinson Island.

Nearly 200 guests attended the fourth annual fundraiser at the PGA Country Club in Port St. Lucie. Belly dancers, fire eating and henna tattoos were all part of the fun, with live and silent auctions raising more than $54,000. Molly’s House Breakfast Fundraiser
Molly’s House received $170,000 in pledges from supporters, which will be used toward general operating costs, allowing Molly’s House to continue providing sanctuary for more than 2,000 patients and family members each year.
The Frances Langford Fund Awards
The Martin County Community Foundation event took place at Dolphin Bar and Shrimp House in Jensen Beach, and awarded grants totaling $303,620 to seven local non-profits to fund programs in 2018 and 2019. The grants will support work in five categories: literacy, research, social services, training and vocational education.
Hospice 21st Annual Tennis Benefit
Two hundred men and women came together this month in support Treasure Coast Hospice. Former WTA Top 10 tennis professional, Kathy Rinaldi, spearheaded the event which featured exhibition appearances by herself and Brenda Shultz-McCarthy. Amateur players of all ages converged over four days to contest for division supremacy. The event was highlighted by live and silent auctions and the Pro-Am exhibition on Saturday night. The tournament was hosted by North River Shores Tennis Club raising nearly $50, 000!

The City of Stuart launched an Art in Public Places program as part of the Centennial Celebration. The inaugural project, called the “Florida Water Birds” collection, includes six Water Birds created by internationally known sculptor and Stuart resident Geoffrey Smith. The art will be placed along Colorado Avenue. Sea of Hope Luncheon
Four local heroes were honored for their devotion to foster children during the third annual luncheon held at Willoughby Golf Club. Jen Burrage received Volunteer of the Year, while local foster family Richard and Ericah Brinson received Foster Family of the Year. In addition, MaryLynn Magar accepted the Legislator of the Year, and Rani Mathura received Place of Hope’s Hero of Hope award.
Michael Shields benefit
Guests and anglers enjoyed a night under the stars at the Captain's Reception kickoff party, held at River Palm Cottages in Jensen Beach. The fishing tournament began immediately after, following through to the next day. In all, nearly $35,000 was raised to benefit Project L.I.F.T.
