Mariner Sands Country Club in Stuart was transformed into Rick’s American Café in late 1941, the site of a mysterious catnapping! More than 160 attendees were the detectives who solved the mystery while enjoying cocktails and a buffet. Molly’s House hosted a Champagne Reception featuring artwork by students of the Visionary School of Arts. The evening included wine and Champagne, hors d’oeurves, live music, and students painting in the Serenity Garden. Hundreds came out to the 40th annual event, with more than 500 boats on display, from small bay boats up to huge 70-foot-plus sport fishermen. The show also featured nearly 170 exhibitors carrying engines, marine electronics and marine accessories from manufacturers worldwide. More than 76 participants, from novices to straight shooters, put their marksmanship to the test at the Kiwanis Challenge fundraiser. The sporting clay tournament was held at the exclusive South Florida Shooting Club. It was a fun-filled evening of giving as guests dined and mingled at the Palm Cove Clubhouse before touring five decorated homes, then heading back to the clubhouse for dessert and trivia. More than 140 celebrities and supporters gathered at The Bear’s Club in Jupiter for the 13th annual event, which included dinner, and live and silent auctions. A golf tournament was held the next day. Talented chefs from ten country clubs competed for top baking honors at the third Holiday Cookie Competition and Luncheon benefiting The 4Cs – Caring Children/Clothing Children. A panel of local “celebrity” judges chose the winner based on different categories. The evening celebrated an almost-13-year effort to get the nearly 90-year-old two-room former schoolhouse rehabilitated. Highlights of the evening included wine tasting and live auction bidding on nine historic windows that had been transformed into works of art by noted artists. Treasure Coast Hospice New CEO Welcome Reception
Community members gathered together recently to welcome Susan de Cuba into her new role as CEO of Treasure Coast Hospice. Receptions took place at the hospice’s Mayes Center for Hope in Stuart and William & Helen Thomas Counseling Center in Fort Pierce.
