Dr. Ben Carson, a professor emeritus of neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins University, was the speaker at the Second Annual Distinguished Speakers Luncheon to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County at Sailfish Point Clubhouse in Stuart. The 12th Annual Treasure Coast Luncheon at Mariner Sands Country Club featured Dr. Po-Heng Tsai from the Cleveland Clinic. Guests were treated to a fashion show with the Alzheimer’s Community Care caregivers as the models. Harbour Ridge Yacht and Country Club was the setting for United Way of St. Lucie County’s Second Annual Orange Blossom Ball. The theme for this year’s ball was The Camelot Era, with a menu and décor reminiscent of the elegance from the early 1960s. Nancy and Cam Collins opened their doors to nearly 30 people who attended the preevent party in honor of the committee, sponsors and band members that all helped make the benefit a success. The event, held at Memorial Park, featured speed-walking relays, live bands and vendors.
