Molly’s House Gives Thanks

Many joined Molly's House at the Donor Appreciation Gathering and Art Gallery Opening, featuring the work of students from Visionary School of Arts. Founder and teacher Lynne Barletta was on hand to share stories about some of the students’ artwork that was presented. Appetizers and drinks were on hand for everyone’s enjoyment.

‘Lunafest’ Fundraiser

Thanks to overwhelming support from the community, more than $15,000 was raised to benefit the Junior League of Martin County programs and the Breast Cancer Fund. Held at the Lyric Theatre, guests had the opportunity to bid on several silent auction items and enjoy thought-provoking films.

Hospice 21st Annual Tennis Benefit

Two hundred men and women came together this month in support Treasure Coast Hospice. Former WTA Top 10 tennis professional, Kathy Rinaldi, spearheaded the event which featured exhibition appearances by herself and Brenda Shultz-McCarthy. Amateur players of all ages converged over four days to contest for division supremacy. The event was highlighted by live and silent auctions and the Pro-Am exhibition on Saturday night. The tournament was  hosted by North River Shores Tennis Club raising nearly $50, 000!

Florida Oceanographic Society Capital Campaign

Hosted by Jack and Barbara Nicklaus at the Coastal Center, the event educated guests about the Capital Campaign for a new Ocean EcoCenter, Gamefish Lagoon Bridges, waterworks exploration zone and gift shop expansion.

Dancing with the Martin Stars

Local celebrities put their best feet forward at the Lyric Theatre to benefit Martin County Healthy Start Coalition. More than $143,000 was raised this year to help ensure that babies born in Martin County are healthy. Brian Moriarty was the overall winner (achieving the best combined dance score and fundraising nearly $30,000 in donations).

Samaritan Center Benefit Concert

Landau Eugene Murphy Jr., the popular winner of the sixth season of “America's Got Talent,” set the tone for “An Evening of Sinatra and Motown.” Proceeds from the Lyric Theatre performance benefited the Samaritan Center for Young Boys & Families, celebrating its 50th year in Stuart. Prior to the performance, Murphy mingled with Samaritan Center supporters at a Champagne reception at the Geoffrey Smith Gallery.

Mary’s Shelter Gala Celebration ‘Together’

Mary’s Shelter’s sixth annual gala at Willoughby Golf Club in Stuart included dinner, dancing, cocktails, a live auction and entertainment by Street Talk Orchestra. The affair is one of the organization’s two major fundraisers each year that help keep the shelter in operation.

Voices for Children hosted its second annual Ultimate Tailgate Party at Treasure Coast Lexus. Guests were greeted by two members of the Miami Dolphins Cheerleading Squad, and the celebration continued with cocktails, appetizers, games and a wine toss.
