Members of the arts, real estate and professional communities gathered to celebrate another successful Arts Council of Martin County Arts Fest Weekend with a pop-up gallery and DJ.

Hibiscus guild ‘bring a friend’ luncheon

The Hibiscus Children’s Center Martin County Guild—a group of volunteers and the driving force behind Hibiscus’ fundraising activities in Martin County since 1992—recently hosted its annual “Bring a Friend” luncheon at a guild member’s home in Sailfish Point. The guild volunteers work together throughout the year to change the lives of abused children.

Heathcote Botanical Gardens’ Garden of Lights

Locals who attended the holiday event were able to walk through 5 acres of gardens that were illuminated with thousands of lights handcrafted into colorful seasonal and whimsical garden displays.

Sculpture Unveiling at Geoffrey C. Smith Galleries

The exclusive gathering featured an unveiling of the newest sculpture by wildlife artist Geoffrey C. Smith at his gallery in Stuart. Hundreds of collectors, admirers and community leaders got a first look at “Community Gathering,” a bronze cypress tree serving as a perch for life-sized kingfisher, snowy egret, two ibis and a rosette spoonbill.

Stuart Welcomes Coastal Living Magazine

The Coastal Living team was back in Martin County to celebrate Stuart, the “2016 Happiest Seaside Town in America” and announce the "2017 Happiest Seaside Town" winner live from downtown Stuart. Stuart is the first town in Florida to receive the No. 1 win.

Martin County’s 19th annual fundraiser, “Ports of Call” welcomed a group of 130 community members to an evening of celebration at the Frances Langford Pavilion at Indian RiverSide Park in Jensen Beach. The event raised funds for outreach programs, scholarships and the purchasing of boats, safety, communication and rigging equipment.

Michael Shields Memorial Inshore Open

The eighth annual bash was held at the River Palm Cottages & Fish Camp in Jensen Beach. A Captain's Party and family BBQ was also held, attracting more than 400 people during the weekend. The Open is the largest inshore fishing tournament on the Treasure Coast and is held annually to raise critically needed funds for Project L.I.F.T. This year, funds will be restricted to its new girls’ program, The Willow Project.

Martin County Library Foundation’s ‘A Literary Affair’

A group of 15 authors from around the country joined 120 book lovers during the fundraising event held at Hutchinson Shores Resort & Spa in Jensen Beach. The event was held in conjunction with BookMania!, where guests were seated with an author at each table for conversation during a three-course gourmet dinner.

United Way of Martin County Reception

Members of the Tocqueville Society were honored during a reception at Sailfish Point Country Club. The Tocqueville Society, in its 27th year, includes 80 philanthropists who last year alone contributed more than $1 million to United Way of Martin County’s 2015 to 2016 campaign.
