Life lessons from a veteran nurse Edit Delete Unpublish Submitted by admin on Fri, 2014-04-25 10:27 Q: What do you love most about nursing? A: I’m a “people person.” I enjoy talking and listening to people and their stories. I love to see people laugh, and one of my gifts is “clowning.” Working as an oncology nurse, I developed a sense of responsibility toward the patients, not only to provide compassionate nursing care, but also to cheer them up. Race day tips

Race day tips Edit Delete Unpublish Submitted by admin on Mon, 2014-12-29 09:20 Start slow. Conserving energy is critical in distance running. If there are a lot of runners, be patient. You’ll need the extra energy for later on in the race. Maintain a steady pace. Don’t run too fast or you’ll run out of steam. Find a pace that’s comfortable for you so that you don’t cramp or fatigue. Drink plenty of fluids. Before, during and after the race make sure you consume at least six to eight ounces of water or a sports drink every 15 to 20 minutes to stay hydrated and keep your body cool, especially when running in hot weather.Read more about Race day tips
