Monica Muñoz, DO

Dr. Monica Muñoz is a board-certified endocrinologist that practices in Stuart, Florida, with South Florida Endocrine Center since 2014. She specializes in treating Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders, polycystic ovarian syndrome, pituitary disorders, adrenal gland disorders, and osteoporosis. She completed her undergraduate studies at Florida International University and obtained her medical degree in Osteopathic Medicine from Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida, in 2009. She went on to perform her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah, Florida, and finished her fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism through Larkin Community Hospital in 2014.

Dr. Muñoz is no stranger to diabetes and thyroid disorders as she was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes mellitus at the age of seven and hypothyroidism during medical school. She has an extensive knowledge base of integrating current-day technology of various insulin pump therapies with continuous glucose monitoring as well as thyroid ultrasound and fine needle
aspiration of thyroid nodules. She was nominated in 2022 Top Doctors by Castle Connolly and designated as a 2023 Top Doctor by Stuart Magazine.

At South Florida Endocrine Center, Dr. Muñoz and her staff strive to provide quality and compassionate patient care.

She enjoys teaching, spending time and traveling with her family, reading, going to her daughter’s swim competitions, and outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and kayaking.
