I work closely with children’s brain cancer charities.

What is your best baseball moment?

I was honored to be able to open a stadium in my name at my alma mater – the University of Illinois at Chicago. I’m proud that I can leave a lasting legacy for my school and for the numerous area youth leagues that can use the field.

What’s one interesting fact about you?

I went to Taiwan as part of a MLB-sponsored trip and, as part of the custom there, I drank snake blood.

What charity do you support?

The Grand Kids Foundation, which is my foundation that focuses on improving opportunities for inner-city youth in the areas of education and youth baseball.

What has been your career highlight, or your proudest moment so far?

My proudest moment was when I finally reached the big leagues in 2010. One of my career highlights was this offseason when I was selected to an All-Star team of MLB players who went over to Japan to play against Japan’s best players.

What charity do you support?

I’m looking to get more involved with children’s charities.

Tell us one fun fact about yourself, or something readers may not know.

I am a huge fan of dog shows. On Thanksgiving a lot of people think the best part of the day is watching football, the parade or eating, but I like watching the Westminster Dog Show most of all.

What is your best baseball moment?

Receiving the Gold Glove Award with my mother present at the Rawlings Dinner.

What do you enjoy doing off of the field?

I try to devote all of my free time to playing with my newborn son.

What charity do you support?

I’m looking to get more involved with children’s charities.

What is your best baseball moment?

When I fought back to get to the Majors after I was demoted, and then hit in a home run in my first game back.

I work with various children’s charities.

What’s one interesting fact about you?

My roommate in New York is Zack Wheeler.

What is your best baseball moment?

Winning my Major League debut in Atlanta with my family and friends on hand.

What’s one interested thing about you? I love wrestling.

What charity do you support?

Cancer has affected my family. I’m involved with several children’s cancer-related charities.

David Wright

What is your best baseball moment?

Winning the National League East in 2006. Hopefully we can do it again this year. Postseason baseball in New York is unlike anything else I’ve experienced.

What’s one interesting fact about you? I love to play fantasy football.

What charity do you support?

The David Wright Foundation. It was established in 2005 to aid children in need in the New York City and Norfolk, Virginia areas.
