Tish Boyle’s Review Of Harp’s Restaurant In Stuart

844

Specializing in hand-cut steaks, house-made pasta and seafood, Harp’s Restaurant is a relatively recent addition to the Stuart dining scene. The dining space is intimate with coastal-chic decor and a friendly, casual ambiance. For those in search of a meal and some excitement, Harp’s on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights features live piano music. There’s also a Sunset Dinner special served daily from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

During a recent visit, my husband and I started with two popular appetizers: the Thick Cut Onion Rings and the Grilled Shrimp Cocktail. The house-made onions rings, served with a creamy remoulade sauce, were hot, crispy and addictive. The grilled shrimp came with a classic cocktail sauce and were flavorful and succulent. Even though portions at Harp’s are generous, we couldn’t refuse the basket of hot house-made rolls and whipped butter.

My husband ordered the Prime Rib Special (served every Thursday, Friday and Saturday) for his main course. The thick slice of beef was Instagram-worthy and was served au jus and with creamed spinach. Future diners have the option to order a different side such as cabbage and onions or buttered mushrooms.

I ordered the grilled Australian Lamb Chops, which had an outstanding flavor that was enhanced by a house-made mint sauce. I chose lyonnaise potatoes for my side dish, a buttery mix of sautéed potato chunks and onions. On my next visit, I plan to try one of the fresh pasta dishes our server recommended.

If you are thinking about ordering dessert, make it the New York cheesecake. It’s served with a crushed raspberry sauce and fresh whipped cream.

Next time you’re in need of a new place to dine, take my advice and makes plans to visit this popular restaurant soon—just be sure to make reservations first.
