Orange For The Cure Event Invites Pink Warriors To Workout For Breast Cancer Awareness

Get ready to workout in the name of breast cancer.

On Nov. 7, Orangetheory Fitness Stuart will be partnering with Friends in Pink to lead a group of “pink warriors” in fitness exercises as they honor those fighting the disease.

The first-time Orange for the Cure event, which is meant to motivate attendees showing support for loved ones battling breast cancer, encourages participants to wear the most fun pink gear their closet holds.

The workouts, held at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m., will include high-intensity, low-impact circuit training exercises using treadmills, water rowers and floor exercises led by a professional fitness coach.

"We also provide options and challenges so this workout can accommodate beginners and elite levels of fitness," Orangetheory Fitness owner Tabitha Hopkins said. "This event will be open to non members also, and we encourage everyone to come and cheer for all of the attendees."

While the event will feature calorie-busting workouts and plenty of fun, the most important part, Hopkins says, is the message they're sending to the Martin County community.

"We are most excited to bring the community together to raise those in need, especially since it local women that will receive the help," she said. "We are also excited to honor and motivate by giving support to those affected. Everyone knows somebody affected by breast cancer, and with this event, they can have a good time, get healthy and help those in need."

Organizers are asking that participants raise $100 to attend the event. All proceeds will go to Friends in Pink.
