Supporters came out to the Pelican Yacht Club to kick off the Center’s 20th anniversary. Guests enjoyed an up-close encounter with resident sea stars and urchins from the touch tank used in outreach programs for the community and schools; a pictorial exhibit; and a nautically inspired vignette from the Vanishing Mermaid Gift Shop. The fundraising gala, “Manatee Magic 2016,” will be held at MOEC on Nov. 5.
