This May, Mattamy Homes’ Newfield Farm and KC Trails in Palm City will set the scene for a packed lineup of community events.

From scenic trail hikes to creative workshops, plus hands-on learning experiences like “Simply Rooted: Thriving in the Heat – Summer Gardening 101” and a Mother’s Day celebration, there’s always something to add to the calendar. 

Coffee with a Farmer  

Sip fresh coffee and chat with Newfield farmers May 10. Learn about farm life, sustainable agriculture, and what’s growing this season from 10 to 11 a.m.

Mother’s Day Floral Purse Workshop

Create a stunning floral purse arrangement for yourself or the special woman in your life May 10. All materials provided. The workshop is $45 and takes place from 10 a.m. to noon.

Full Moon Owl Prowl at KC Trails

During the full moon on May 12, Florida master naturalist and President of Audubon of Martin County John Nelson will offer expert insight about the owls that inhabit the area, their habits, and how they navigate the dark. Listen for the calls of these mysterious creatures and enjoy a peaceful, immersive journey through Florida’s nocturnal wildlife.

Sunrise Yoga

Find your flow at Sunset Yoga on the lawn on May 17. This peaceful outdoor practice is suitable for participants of all levels. Don’t forget your mat and water. Registration is $10.

Kids Farm Class 

Kids get a hands-on farm experience learning how vegetables grow from seed to snack at Newfield Farm on May 21. Registration is $5 per child and includes fun activities and farm-fresh food. 

Candle Making Workshop 

On May 23, learn how to craft soy candles with non-toxic fragrance oils. Bring your own beverages and enjoy a fun, social evening. Registration is $78.

Mini Farm Day 

Pony rides, a petting zoo, and ice cream await at Newfield Farm on May 24. Check out the new Harvest House and enjoy local farm goods with the whole family from 10 a.m. to noon.

Simply Rooted: Thriving in the Heat – Summer Gardening 101 

Join the Newfield Farm team for an engaging and hands-on class about summer planting techniques, soil health tips, and organic pest control for hot Florida weather. A waiver is required. 

Family Farm Picnic & Croquet Classic  

Enjoy a fun-filled day at Newfield Farm May 31! Enjoy an afternoon of picnic lunches, beverages, and croquet. Enjoy live music throughout and take in the relaxing farm atmosphere. The event is open to both residents and non-residents, and registration is required.
