Senior Web Editor Ileana Llorens spends a Sunday afternoon at the International Polo Club’s Escada pop-up boutique.
When it comes to style, simple silhouettes make the most elegant fashion statements.
Upon walking into the International Polo Club on March 20, my friend turned my attention to a woman in a full-length, bright yellow Escada dress, its thin straps perfectly criss-crossing against her back. We noticed the cheery color, sure, but it was the graceful movement of the dress we remembered. (We would later learn the model was our host Hannah Selleck, show jumper and daughter of actor Tom Selleck.)
Tucked into the poolside courtyard was the brand’s pop-up boutique, where equally chic items—dresses, blouses, bags and sunglasses—were available to the 450 club members during brunch and polo that day. A portion of the proceeds benefitted the Palm Beach chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Sipping on a glass of rosé, I asked myself why I was drawn to the pieces. Finally, it dawned on me: Confidence is all you need to elevate the ensemble—no accessories required.
