Ocean Republic Brewing Company (ORB) will host a kick off event to celebrate the release of the first beer in its 2021 Collaborative Brew Series on April 9 from 4 to 8 p.m. The brewing company partnered with the ARC of Martin County (ARC) for a day of beer-making with ARC’s president and CEO, Keith Muniz, seven ARC staff members. Chris Cischke, owner of Ocean Republic, led the novice brewers through the process of crafting a Blonde Ale, from milling the grains, adding them to the mash, learning how to control the temperature of the brew, and the various remaining steps that turn water, grain, yeast, and hops into beer.

Guests are invited to drop by the Stuart brewing company on April 9 to try the beer for themselves. One dollar from every ARC brewed beer sold will be donated to support the nonprofit’s mission to provide services and programs to more than 400 children and adults across the Treasure Coast with intellectual and developmental disabilities. For patrons looking to make an evening of the celebration, a $40 donation to ARC will include two beers of choice, a burger or chicken sandwich, and two entries for various raffle prizes that will be drawn at the end of the evening. Tickets for the $40 fundraiser are available for pre-sale here or at the door on April 9.

“Our goal is to provide support, assistance, and training that will enhance the abilities for children and adults with disabilities to thrive each day and achieve their fullest potential,” said Muniz. “Only with the support from our many wonderful partners, donors, and volunteers are we able to provide the many services and supports that we do.”
