The Humane Society of the Treasure Coast in Palm City will celebrate seven decades of lifesaving work with local shelter pets during the Seventieth Anniversary Birthday Paw-ty on May 17. Celebrations—complete with raffles, coffee, and cupcakes—will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and adoption specials will be available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In honor of the milestone, the humane society is aiming to find forever homes for at least 70 animals. To encourage adoptions, the humane society will host adoption specials, made possible by Transmarine Chartering, Inc., on May 17:
- Adoption fees for puppies younger than 1 year are $70.
- Dogs older than 1 year have a waived adoption fee.
- Adoption fees for kittens younger than 1 year are $30.
- All cats older than 1 year have a waived adoption fee.
- Adoption fees for critters (rabbits, guinea pigs, etc) are $17.
All adoptable pets are vaccinated and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Dogs, cats, and rabbits are also microchipped. The adoption special is honored at the humane society’s main shelter and thrift stores only.
