MartinArts Foundation will host their annual MartinArts (mARTies) Awards on Tuesday, November 2, at the historic Lyric Theatre in downtown Stuart. The festivities will kick off at 7 p.m. to celebrate and honor artistic and philanthropic achievement throughout Martin County. The show will be produced by Heidi Condon with a special opening performance featuring the night’s nominees, as well as Peter Jones, Karin Leone, and Charles Jones. Student performers and nominees will take the stage throughout the evening to showcase their talents. Tickets to the show are $37 for adults and $22 for students.

Since 2003, the MartinArts Awards, presented by MartinArts Foundation, have recognized the Treasure Coast’s abundance of performance, visual, and literary artistic excellence, as well as those who help the arts flourish in the community. Nominated artists, philanthropists, volunteers, and leaders are invited to participate in an opening performance, choreographed and produced specifically for the event, and in collaborative performances.

The Named Award categories are divided into Professional Artist and Student Artist (high school seniors only) and represent the visual, performing, and literary arts disciplines. The awards are presented to an individual in each category with a proven record of artistic excellence, outstanding civic responsibility, and whose leadership has improved the quality of life in the community through the arts. Nominations are accepted from individuals, businesses, and organizations across the community. The MartinArts Foundation board of directors selects winners that represent a legacy of commitment to things such as leadership, arts education, philanthropy, and lifetime achievement.
