Join jazz diva Muffy Charles and a six-piece live band for an evening of pop, smooth jazz, and R and B at the Cultural Alliance of St. Lucie County’s “This Will Be: The Music of Natalie Cole,” on June 9 at 500 Orange in downtown Fort Pierce. Saxophonist Gary Palmer will open the show alongside the evening’s emcee, 104.5 FM the Flame’s Anthony Chambers.

Guests will dance along to their favorite Natalie Cole hits, like “Inseparable” and “Our Love,” all while supporting music education through the Impact School of the Arts, the Multicultural Resource Center, and Gifford Youth Orchestra. The show begins at 7:30 p.m., but doors open at 6:30 p.m. Early arrivals can purchase raffle tickets in support of the programs and enter to win a variety of donated prizes from local artists and businesses.

“We are so excited to be closing our season with this band of top quality professionals,” says Jake Sanders, the Alliance’s community engagement manager. “When Muffy performs this music live, it electrifies the room, people just get up and start dancing.”

Led by Music Director Randy Langione on guitar, the band includes Rudy Brown on drums, Colin James on piano, Kirk Green on bass, Gary Palmer on saxophone, and Angela Johnson Neely as the backing vocalist.

Guests may choose between VIP preferred seating at four-top tables or general admission seats at eight-top tables. Bonner Mobile Bar will craft cocktails all night, with themed drinks like the “Muffytini” and small plates by True Roots Catering.

Tickets are $25-$35 in advance, and $30-$40 at the door. Purchase here, by calling (772) 462-2783, or by visiting the Alliance Gallery.
