Mutt March Festival is Back

After two years online, the beloved festival will return to Memorial Park in Stuart for a day of pet-friendly activities March 26

The nineteenth annual Mutt March Festival will return as an in-person event after two years online. The event, which benefits the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast, will be held on March 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Memorial Park (300 SE Ocean Blvd.) in Stuart. Ahead of the event, runners with participate in Mutt March’s quintessential 5K and 10K races. Registration and check-in begins at 7 a.m. and the races will begin at 8 a.m.

The Mutt March festival is free and open to the public. The cost of the 5K race is $35 and the 10K race is $45. The timed races include an event T-shirt.

Radio personality Jennifer Ross of Sunny 107.9 will emcee the festival, which will feature a morning walk with pets around the park. Rev. Jude Denning of Unity of Stuart will conduct a blessing of the animals before the leisurely walk begins.

The event also will give attendees an opportunity to shop at the “Flea-less” market and participate in the ever-competitive canine costume contest with local celebrity judges. Prizes will be awarded to the funniest, cutest, most original, and best overall costumes. Dogs will have the opportunity to run a lure course and guests can make memories with their furry friends at the humane society’s photo booth.

In conjunction with the Mutt March Festival, the humane society will partner with the City of Stuart and Students4H2O to host WaterFest. Head to the other side of Memorial Park, where WaterFest and Students4H2O will educate guests about the benefits of water conservation awareness and environmental stewardship. Various exhibitors and school groups will host activities, demonstrations, and contests.

Learn more about the event and register online. Guests are encouraged to help fundraise by creating or joining a PACK (fundraising team). All funds go directly to the humane society’s shelter pets’ care and to support the nonprofit organization’s community programs.
