If you’re in search of eclectic entertainment this season, look no further: The Elliott Museum’s Troubadour Sessions series explores diverse genres, introducing locals to performers with captivating stage presence and lyricism.

The sessions continue February 9 with a performance by one-man blues band Ben Prestage, who is regarded as a master of the diddly bow, cigar box, and all things with strings.

The series is a collaboration with Ron Hart of Earthtones, who previously owned Terra Fermata. According to Rob Steele, president and CEO of The Historical Society of Martin County, “Troubadour Sessions” is the perfect name for the series.

“A ‘troubadour’ is a class of lyric poets and poet-musicians, often of knightly rank, who flourished from the eleventh to the end of the thirteenth century, chiefly in the south of France and the north of Italy,” said Steele. “While these acts will not evoke the essence of a thirteenth-century minstrel, the music will always be sublime.”

Tampa-based Damon Fowler closes out the musical series March 9.

All concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. Seating will be limited to 75 guests and tickets are $20. The museum’s tiki hut will be open for dinner and drinks before each performance, and a full bar will be offered throughout the shows.
