Enjoy An Agatha Christie Novel During Chilly Winter Days On The Treasure Coast
February always seems to be the coldest month in Florida. Is there an appeal process for the weather? No? Then I suppose the only thing left to do is hibernate with a few good books… and tea. One must have tea, and mysteries.
What to read this month:
I suppose it's time to confess my love of Agatha Christie novels. Simpler times, intriguing settings and perfectly wrapped-up mysteries are so satisfying.
My next read by the author will be "Cards on the Table: A Hercule Poirot Mystery." The plot revolves around a flamboyant party host who invites four detectives and four criminals for an evening of bridge and murder. This one looks like a quintessential “locked-room” mystery.
Must-attend event for kids:
The 20th annual American Girl Tea Party takes place on Sunday, Feb. 14, at 2 p.m. We invite everyone to dress in their tea-party best and bring friends. This is the social event of the year for ages 4 to 14. Games, activities, prizes, snacks and tea (of course!) will be provided for all. Please call Barnes & Noble for more details: 772.692.2270.
I'm sure the chilly weather will pass soon enough, but until it does, let's all stay under blankets reading books. I give us permission.
