3 Upcoming Local Fairs To Attend For Big Rides, Carnival Food And Live Entertainment

There’s nothing like a local fair—the rides, the livestock, the food, the family-friendly entertainment. Fair season is coming in full swing this year, starting in February. Here are three upcoming fairs on the Treasure Coast to attend:

Martin County Fair

The local fair known for drawing over 70,000 people from across the Treasure Coast will be held on Feb. 9-17. The Martin County Fair’s opening night will start with the 2018 pageant, with appearances from the current Miss Florida and the 2017 Miss Martin County Fair Queen. 

There will be free admission for everyone on the opening night of the fair. This year’s event will feature carnival rides, food, live entertainment, artifacts from the notorious Ashley Gang, fencing demonstrations (held on Feb. 17, at 3 p.m.), a science exhibition with a mad scientist lab, and more.

St. Lucie County Fair

The St. Lucie County Fair returns Feb. 23-March 4, with the theme of, “We’ve got a good thing growing.” The opening weekend will feature the PRCA Rodeo, beginning on Feb. 23, at 7:30 p.m. and continuing on Feb. 24, at 7:30 p.m. A special Budweiser Clydesdale intermission show will be held during the rodeo on Saturday night only. The second week of the fair will feature the Demo Derby on March 3, at 6 p.m. 

The fair will include rides on the midway, a petting zoo, livestock shows and auctions, arts and crafts, school displays, racing pigs, food, live entertainment and more.

Indian River County Firefighters Fair

Being held March 9-18, the Indian River County Firefighters Fair will feature a performance by Tracy Lawrence on March 11, at 7 p.m. Other amenities at the fair will include carnival rides, youth livestock, horticulture activities, 4-H livestock, a demolition derby and more.
