Athena Plastic Surgery’s ‘Cosmopolitans And Collagen’ Event To Help Charity That Performs Reconstructive Surgery In Developing Countries

A Stuart plastic surgeon is hosting a charitable evening featuring medical spa demos, a fashion show, cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and more in January.

The event, called "Cosmopolitans and Collagen," is being held Jan. 27 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Woman's Club of Stuart. Funds raised throughout the night will go to ReSurge International, which trains plastic surgeons to provide reconstructive surgical care for poor children and adults in developing countries.

At the event, guests can experience live demonstrations of procedures, such as microneedling, radiofrequency treatments, botox injections and fillers.

"There'll be some chosen people who get to be demoed on, and people can come and watch the demos," said host Dr. Avron Lipschitz of Athena Plastic Surgery.

Sponsors, including Orangetheory Fitness and Stella & Dot, will have booths set up to hold their own interactive demonstrations, too. (Stuart Magazine is also a sponsor.)

In addition to these demos, the evening will include raffles for the more than $30,000 worth of plastic surgery procedures and products being given away. Only the first 150 people to RSVP will be able to purchase raffle tickets.

Lipschitz said he was inspired to hold this plastic surgery charity event by his mentor, Dr. Richard Redett, who is the director of the Johns Hopkins Cleft Lip and Palate Center.

"Dr. Redett trained me, and so I'm trying to give back to him," Lipschitz said.

Lipschitz expects the guests who turn out to be a mix of those interested in nonsurgical cosmetic care, as well as "people who are just interested in raising money for a good cause and anybody who wants to have a good time in Stuart."

He urged those interested to RSVP as soon as possible. The event has already had a few dozen people RSVP in the few days he'd been promoting it.

"They've got to hustle," he said.
