To Celebrate Veterans Day, Stuart Magazine Readers Share Photos Of Their Loved Ones

This Veterans Day, we wanted to take the opportunity to thank those who have served in all branches of our armed services.

We asked you, our readers, to submit photographs so that we may pay tribute to Stuart-area residents and relatives of locals who selflessly risked their lives to preserve our freedom. What we received were heartwarming images of family reunions, award ceremonies and more. 

Whether you served in the Korean War or completed tours of Iraq, we salute you.

Our son-in-law, Andrew Szwejbka, a captain in the U.S. Marine Corp, had just returned home from a tour in Iraq, when his little girl, Evie, saw him!

I served in the U.S. Army from 1986-1992. Here I am flying aboard a C-130 aircraft out of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, during the Gulf War.

Franklin J. Hommel

My father served in the 7th infantry division of the U.S. Army in the Korean War.  He was a corporal. He served from March 1953 to November 1954 and fought in the Battle of Pork Chop Hill. He is now 84 years old.

The partners and founders of D-Dey Response Group. We are all veterans, with almost 50 years of service between the three of us. We are dedicated to teaching people to save lives in emergencies and employing our fellow veterans. We love running our business out of Martin County and try to dedicate our time to volunteering in our community as well.
