Dancing With The Martin Stars Wants You To Become A Dancer For Charity

Apply to dance the night away for charity at the Dancing with the Martin Stars event, benefiting pregnant women and babies.

Healthy Start Coalition is currently accepting applications for Dancing with the Martin Stars, an annual dancing and fundraising competition. Only eight applicants will be selected for the experience, which will be held on Sept. 22, at the Lyric Theatre.

Finalists will be paired with a professional dancer who will teach the contestants over a five-month period leading up to the fundraiser. Dance styles include the tango, the cha-cha, the Charleston, the mambo and the samba.

Applications can be accessed here, or by calling Samantha Suffich at 772.463.2888. All applications must be submitted by April 18. Applicants are encouraged to describe why they should be chosen and may submit videos, photos and testimonials.

In 2017, the event raised $143,000 to fund Healthy Start programs. The organization's mission is to ensure that every Martin County baby is born healthy and provides risk screening, care coordination, prenatal outreach, psychosocial counseling and more to mothers and babies.
