Local Photographer Wins Stuart Magazine's Drone Photo Contest

We recently asked local photographers to send us their favorite drone photos that capture the beauty of Stuart, Fort Pierce and other surrounding areas, and then asked our readers to vote for their favorite photo.

And the winner is…John Biondo! His photo of the jetties in Fort Pierce was a fan favorite, with over 100 votes sealing his victory.

Below are John’s thoughts and comments on his winning photo.

What was your inspiration for the photo?

I was checking out the jetty’s and I wanted to capture its beauty in the water, as well as the sky. It was a bonus that the boat happened to be going out at the time I was taking images.

How did you first get into photography?

I have always loved the scenes I see in my viewfinder and try to capture the scene in the best way possible. I don’t think I will ever tire of looking through a viewfinder to see the perfect scene to shoot.

What is your favorite part about drone photography?

I love that I can get almost any type of shot, high or low, and the angles you would not have access to without flight.
