Lucky's Market Opening In Port St. Lucie Is A Natural Foods Store That Lets You Sip Wine While You Shop

A natural grocery store where you can sip wine while you stroll the aisles is coming to the Treasure Coast.

Lucky's Market, which offers an extensive selection of local, organic, vegan and gluten-free items, plans to open in Port St. Lucie by the end of this year. (The exact address of the store has not yet been released.)

"Port St. Lucie feels like a great fit for a Lucky’s given the demand for natural and organic foods within the community," said Ben Friedland, vice president of marketing for Lucky's Market. "We believe our concept, which works to make these foods more affordable, will be of interest to residents."

The news comes as part of the Colorado-based chain's announcement of plans to open at least six new stores across Florida through 2018, including additional locations in Oakland Park, Sarasota, Panama City, Bonita Springs and St. Petersburg.

The Lucky's Market brand was started by a husband-and-wife chef team in Colorado who wanted to open a grocery store designed for food lovers like themselves. Between selling quality items like in-house smoked bacon and offering too-good-to-believe deals like 19-cent mangoes or 3-for-$1 Haas avocados, Lucky's is like a Whole Foods Market at Trader Joe's prices.

The natural foods store lets shoppers stroll through the grocery aisles with a $2 pint or $3 wine glass in hand, which they can purchase from the beer and wine bar at the store's sit-down café.

Shoppers at Lucky's will also find fresh baked goods, a salad bar, pizza counter, grab-and-go sushi and other ready-to-eat meals, plus a bulk foods section with do-it-yourself trail mix and an apothecary department for natural home remedies.

Lucky's is known to host a bacon-cutting ceremony and other festivities to celebrate grand openings, so stay tuned for updates on the Port St. Lucie store's address, opening date and more.
