Man Catches 7-Foot Grouper Off Stuart’s Coast While On A Stand Up Paddleboard

First he filmed an angler catching a 552-pound goliath grouper on a kayak, and the video went viral. Then he caught a bull shark while fishing on a kayak of his own.

Now, Capt. Ben Chancey has accomplished another wild fishing feat off the coast of Stuart. The “Chew On This” fishing show host caught a 7-foot-long goliath grouper—this time riding a stand up paddleboard. Chancey uploaded the video to YouTube on Tuesday.

“[W]e wanted to do something that had never been done before,” Chancey told Stuart Magazine.

The goliath grouper, weighing in at an estimated 412 pounds, pulled Chancey off his paddleboard and into the water, but he finally caught it after a 20-minute battle.
