New York Mets Fans, Get Ready: Spring Training Games At Tradition Field Kick Off This Weekend
Get ready for the return of spring baseball.
The New York Mets' first spring training home game at Port St. Lucie's Tradition Field kicks off Saturday, Feb. 25, at 1:05 p.m.
Throughout spring training, Tradition Field will host teams including the Washington Nationals, Houston Astros, Detroit Tigers, Miami Marlins, St. Louis Cardinals, Atlanta Braves and Boston Red Sox in games against the Mets.
Single game tickets are available online at Mets.com and range from $15 to $35 depending on seating location and whether it's a weekday or weekend game. Seating options include the lawn berm, upper and lower reserve, covered seating and field-level terrace.
Fans can also attend open workouts, as the Mets practice daily and fans are welcome to watch for free. On game days, the open workout period ends at 11:30 a.m.
With the brand new Ballpark of the Palm Beaches making its debut this season, five Major League Baseball teams are now located on Florida's east coast, all within an hour's drive of each other.
As a result, local sports and tourism officials expect to see the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast become a true spring training vacation destination.
“It makes it more conducive to people traveling down to this area and ballpark hopping to see the other facilities and other teams,” Paul Taglieri, the Mets’ executive director of minor league facilities, said.
