Tim Tebow is stepping up to the plate in Port St. Lucie—literally.

The former Heisman Trophy winner and NFL quarterback is being promoted from the Columbia Fireflies, a minor league team in South Carolina, to the St. Lucie Mets baseball team.

On Sunday, Tebow played his final game with the Firelies, batting a .222 with three homeruns, 23 RBIs, 69 stikeouts and an on-base-plus slugging percentage of .651.

Tebow has previously spent time at the Met’s spring training facility in Port St. Lucie and is returning to a state where he is worshiped for his football accomplishments at University of Florida.

Tebow’s first St. Lucie Mets series will kick off on June 27. The game begins at 6:30 p.m.
