Port St. Lucie Kids' Fishing Tournament Set To Reel In Young Anglers

Port St. Lucie’s 33rd annual Kids’ Fishing Tournament will take place Aug. 15. 

The event, held at McCarty Ranch Preserve, is free for children ages 5 to 14. An adult must accompany children younger than 8.

Children will compete in one of two age divisions: 5-year-olds to 9 year-olds or 10-year-olds to 14 year-olds. Trophies will be awarded for each division. There will also be raffles and refreshments.

The younger division will register at 7:30 a.m. and fish from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. The older division will compete slightly later, with registration at 9 a.m. and fishing from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Participants are responsible for their own fishing poles and tackles.
