Stuart Named Among 50 Most Beautiful Small Towns In America, But That’s No Surprise To Us

One magazine has just confirmed what we’ve known for a while: Stuart is one of the best small towns in the nation.

Published June 11, House Beautiful’s list of the 50 most beautiful small towns in America is filled with enchanting photos of charming locations from each state. While we love Stuart for a number of reasons, the magazine specifically cited the fact that the town houses the Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center, as well as Stuart’s location on the Indian River Lagoon—the most bio-diverse lagoon in the northern hemisphere—among the reasons the town deserves some recognition.

But we know there’s so much more. After all, Hutchinson Island is one of the most sought-after vacation spots for locals and tourists alike, and numerous restaurants and safe neighborhoods make it the perfect place to stay for a weekend or, well, for life.

If your summer plans include a road trip to neighboring states, you might want to stop in these other beautiful small towns that made House Beautiful’s list. Here’s what the magazine had to say about them:

Mooresville, Alabama: This little village is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and consists of only six streets.

St. Simons Island, Georgia: This island getaway was voted most romantic town by Travel + Leisure Magazine in 2014

Natchitoches, Louisiana: This town is the oldest in all of the Louisiana Purchase.

Beaufort, South Carolina: This town is the second-oldest in the state and is home to plenty of antebellum architecture.
