Stuart Sailfish Club Hosting Family Fun Day Filled With Food, Drinks And Interactive Demonstrations On March 19
Celebrate life on the water with a day filled with family-friendly activities.
To mark its momentous 75th anniversary, the Stuart Sailfish Club is hosting an afternoon packed with food and drinks as well as interactive demonstrations that pay homage to sport fishing, water sports and conservation.
The free event will take place at Flagler Park in downtown Stuart on Saturday, March 19. Organizers hope the celebration, being held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., will attract about 1,000 people.
Local food trucks, such as Beachside Bistro, Kona Ice and Tony’s Gyros, will be stationed and ready to greet hungry customers with delicious eats. Water, sodas, beer, wine and frozen lemonade will also be sold at the event.
DJ Cuba, O'Donna, Big Pine and more will be providing live music sure to set the mood as adults and kids alike check out interactive demonstrations led by local industry experts. For example, attendees can partake in fishing and cast netting demos, or learn how to filet fish for a delicious meal.
Several nonprofit organizations will also be at the event sharing information about why it’s important to care about our water and environment.
“It’s all about educating people about this type of thing,” event representative Jeannette Weiss said.
Kids can enjoy educational lessons as well as a bounce house with a pirate ship slide.
Stuart Magazine is a sponsor of this event.
