Terra Fermata In Stuart To Host Allman Brothers' Butch Trucks And The Freight Train Band This December

The year is almost over, but there's still plenty of time to fit in an outdoor concert (or two) at Terra Fermata.

Next week, the popular downtown Stuart music venue and beer garden will host an American rock legend, among other acts.

Drummer Butch Trucks, one of the founding members of '70s rock band the Allman Brothers, is touring Florida for the holidays with his Freight Train Band. The musical group stops in Stuart Dec. 28 for a performance at Terra Fermata.

The Freight Train Band features Trucks on drums and bassist Berry Oakley Jr. (son of Allman Brothers Band's founding bassist) alongside other musical guests. Together, they'll perform Allman Brothers songs, of course, as well as other covers.

Opening for the Freight Train Band, local act Nouveaux Honkies—an Americana blues-country group from Port Salerno—and guitarist/vocalist Heather Gillis will take the stage.

Doors open at 6 p.m., and Butch Trucks and the Freight Train Band will go on at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Must be 21 and older.
