Treasure Coast Radio Hosts Attempt To Break Guinness World Record For Most Selfies In 3 Minutes

July 10, 2015 — Two local radio personalities aren’t afraid to get between “The Rock” and a world record.

Geoff Moore and Ali Mac, who host “Geoff and Ali in the Morning” on WGYL 93.7, will attempt to break the world record for the most selfies taken in three minutes at the 33rd Annual Chili Cook-off in Fort Pierce on July 11.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson currently holds the record. He set it on May 21, taking 105 selfies at the red carpet premiere of the movie “San Andreas” in London.

Moore said he hopes to raise the record to 120.

“We decided to break the record because we believe that the number should be higher and that the bar needs to be set higher,” Moore said.

In preparation, Moore said he and Mac have been practicing positioning, working their shoulder muscles and smiling a lot.

“Co-workers will be on hand to help facilitate people in line and to help officiate the event,” he added.

If the attempt is successful, Moore said the reward would be the prestige of having a world record title with the people of the Treasure Coast and doing something fun with his listeners.

For those interested in participating, the record-breaking attempt will occur between 12 p.m. and 12:30 p.m.
