United Way’s Inaugural Tikis On The Terrace Will Benefit Children's Literacy

Sway your hips to the music and party Polynesian-style to improve children’s literacy in the local community.

United Way of Martin County will host its inaugural Tikis on the Terrace on Feb. 23 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Tuckahoe Terrace at the Mansion at Tuckahoe.

The event will feature tropical-inspired dishes, an open bar and traditional Polynesian dancers. Tickets are priced at $75 prior to Jan. 31 and $100 after Feb. 1.

According to United Way, 57 percent of Martin County children are not ready for kindergarten. The organization invests in programs that enhance healthy living, improve education and support financial stability. The profits from Tikis on the Terrace event will be invested in literacy-based programs, including kindergarten readiness and reading readiness in kindergarteners, first graders and second graders.
