Stuart Couple Keeps Their Wedding Local, Elegant And Simple
WHAT THEY DO: Cynthia, 24, is a private dining coordinator at Kyle G’s Prime Seafood & Steaks, and Jacob, 26, is a waiter at Sailor’s Return.
HOW THEY MET: Cynthia and Jacob both attended Port St. Lucie High School. And while they didn’t cross paths then, they did meet through a mutual friend later on.
HOW THEY KNEW THEY’D MET THE ONE: “We knew that we had found ‘the one’ once we had gone through struggle together,” Cynthia says. “We both agree that you do not know how much someone cares for you until you are faced with a dilemma.” The couple have continued to stick beside one another regardless of the hardships they’ve faced.
ON THE PROPOSAL: Forget the cliché proposals on the beach. Jacob decided to pop the question at Cynthia’s parents’ house where she grew up. He collaborated with Cynthia’s sister, who had been engaged the year before, to stage what was a fake party celebrating a year anniversary of her engagement. “I was greeted with a house full of my closest friends and family, as my now husband went to one knee to propose in front of those who meant the most to us,” Cynthia says.
ON THE THEME: The wedding incorporated elegance and simplicity with colors of wine, gold and white, which complemented the space at the venue and allowed for the couple’s vendors to get creative with the florals and decorative displays. “Keeping the focus on simplicity allowed for us to be selective with the table choices (we decided on doing a mixture of long tables and round tables) and let the centerpieces and floral arrangements flourish,” Cynthia says.
SPECIAL DETAILS: One moment that stood out to Cynthia was when she was getting ready at her parents’ house and an unexpected delivery arrived. Jacob sent 18 roses to Cynthia as she prepared for the big day. “The smile on my face was unstoppable, and the memory will remain forever,” she says.
