This Stuart Couple Proves If It's Meant To Be, It Will Be

WHO THEY ARE: Ally, 30, is an equine nutritionist for Oxy-Gen Inc., and Will, 34, is a fireman for the St. Lucie County Fire Department.

HOW THEY MET: Will and Ally’s love story began 15 years ago when they met at a party in high school. Will was close friends with Ally’s brother. They dated in school before moving in two different directions—Ally attending Troy University in Troy, Alabama, on a rodeo scholarship, and Will taking a job as a mate to travel the world in fishing tournaments. The two reconnected when they returned home, and they immediately started dating.

HOW THEY KNEW THEY’D FOUND THE ONE: Will says he knew Ally was the one the first day he met her. Ally remembers everything feeling so perfect once they started seeing one another again, even after so many years apart. “Will and I had time to grow up and figure out what we wanted, and I think we both knew immediately we wanted to start a life together and have a family,” she says. “We have so much in common and have always supported each other.”

ON THE PROPOSAL: Will asked Ally to have dinner with his family with photos being taken after for the Christmas card that year. As she walked up to the Pelican Yacht Club dock around sunset, she saw her niece and nephew wearing shirts that read, “Aunt Ally, will you marry Uncle Will?” Ally recalls, “I started crying, and as I turned around to look at him, he was down on one knee, and I said ‘yes.’” Her family and friends celebrated together after.

ON SELECTING THE CEREMONY AND RECEPTION SITES: They chose First United Methodist Church in Fort Pierce for the ceremony since Will’s family are members and his sister also wed there. Pelican Yacht Club holds a special place in their hearts as it’s a family tradition—that’s where the proposal took place, and it’s where Ally’s mother and sister and Will’s sister held their wedding receptions.

ON THE THEME: The reception was decorated in ivory and gold—with lots of sparkle. A large floral arrangement of white roses and hanging orchids sat at each table with chairs draped in curly willow Champagne sashes. There were sparkly gold reef chargers and matching gold diamond napkin rings. The ceiling was draped with white linen and gold lighting, and there was even a red carpet entrance with a 10-foot hanging backdrop that displayed Ally and Will’s names.

ON THE FIRST DANCE: The couple chose to play “I Cross My Heart” by George Strait for the first dance, which Will played to Ally for the first time when he was 20 years old. “It has always been our song,” he says. Traxx Entertainment also created  “dancing on the clouds,” which blended white smoke that surrounded them as they enjoyed the special moment.

ON THE CAKE: The wedding cake was topped off at seven layers, which The Cake Lady executed perfectly. Each layer was wrapped in gold sequin trim and was etched in a floral design. The couple chose a pink moscato filling, and a floral arrangement of white roses and orchids draped down the side of the cake.   Will’s mother and Ally also designed a peanut butter cup-filled groom’s cake that was a replica of Will’s new custom Conch boat built in Stuart. The groomsmen surprised Will with it lit with sparklers on top.

ON THE SPECIAL DETAILS: Prior to the reception, Will and Ally stopped at a local fire department to take pictures with a fire truck. Another favorite memory includes their sparkler-lined send-off at the Pelican Yacht Club. As Will and Ally stepped into the limousine to leave the reception, a beautiful fireworks display lit up the night sky for guests to enjoy.
