These Newlyweds Always Knew They Were Meant To Be

WHO THEY ARE: Christina, 26, works at Artemis Salon, and Chris, 27, works for DeFazio Industries.

HOW THEY MET: Chris grew up in Hazlet, New Jersey, and Christina grew up in Erie, Pennsylvania, but they found one another through the recovery community. “We both felt from early on that we found the right one for each other and have been in love ever since,” Christina says.

HOW THEY KNEW THEY FOUND THE ONE: “We’ve both been through tough times and having each other to fall back on is a true testament of love,” Christina says. “Chris is my biggest supporter, an amazing listener and has an unbelievable sense of humor. I knew I was going to eventually marry him.”

ON THE PROPOSAL: At the time, the couple was living in Florida and decided to have dinner with Chris’ parents who had flown in for the weekend. What Christina didn’t know was that he arranged for her parents and sister to fly down to Florida as well. After arriving at Stuart Boathouse, Chris told Christina that his parents were running late, so they took a stroll near the water to snap some photos. Chris then got down on one knee and popped the big question with a hired professional photographer standing by to capture the special moment.

ON THE THEME: Christina’s vision was to keep the decor simple and romantic, so she chose a color scheme of light pink, burgundy and green. Floral arrangements featured pink peonies, white roses and greenery. Sheer curtains with fairy lights behind them, burgundy tablecloths and white draping positioned on the chandelier in the middle of the dance floor decorated the reception hall.

ON THE CEREMONY AND RECEPTION SITE: The couple wed at Willoughby Golf Club in Stuart. “Once we set foot at the Willoughby, I fell in love with the grounds,” Christina says, “and knew I had to have our wedding here.” They wed outside under a veranda overlooking the golf course.

ON THE SPECIAL MOMENTS: To end the evening, all of their family and friends lined up outside the venue with sparklers as Chris and Christina walked out. Fireworks lit up the night sky to end their magical evening.
