Publisher's Letter: On Guard

Security is at the top of all of our minds nowadays: cameras are on every corner; there are television shows about protecting the president and ourselves; and there’s enough technology in the atmosphere to follow every move of anyone at any time. I cannot imagine what the tension would be like to protect a president, to be on alert at every step and know you must be ready for anything at any time—depended on by the nation to protect its leader.

While I was watching TV one night, I noticed the person speaking was from Palm City—Dan Bongino. I reached out to him and was happy to hear he would be glad to have us write a story about his life and family. We are excited to have him as our November cover story, which you can read on page 54.

November is an excellent time for our season of events to begin, as there is so much to do in our area. We are pleased to be supporting Tykes and Teens’ Festival of Trees and Lights this year, so please visit Flagler Place in downtown Stuart from Nov. 17 to 23. Events that week include the Joy to the Girls Cocktail Party; Afternoon Champagne Tea; “A Not-So-Silent Night” cocktail party; and many more. If you haven’t attended in the past, this is the year to experience it.

Other must-attend local events include the Poinsettia Power! Luncheon, Audi Stuart Air Show, Pineapple Festival, and Fall Shop-A-Palooza Sidewalk Sale—all are sure to keep you and the family busy during the holiday season.

We hope you enjoy the holidays, and remember, “There is always something to be thankful for.” Sending blessings.
