Publisher's Letter: Whirlwind Weddings
No matter our age, people around us are always getting married. Whether they are planning their own wedding, a child’s or even a second big day.
I get invited to many each year, and the new trend is to celebrate them at country clubs, local county barns or farms and beautiful beachfront resorts. All make for awesome venues to spend the first few hours as a new Mr. and Mrs.
With that, we are proud to present the second-annual Bridal Issue. Every year, we pick a new destination to photograph wedding fashion, and this year we chose the local country club, Harbour Ridge. Known for its beauty and magnificent clubhouse on the Indian River, it’s a perfect spot to have family and friends celebrate. We invited local floral arranger Linda Oliver and the staff from Harbour Bay Florist to design something different and colorful with their spectacular florals.
East Coast Bridal supplied the gowns, and the jewelry is from G. Alan’s Fine Jewelry. And what would our shoot be without an incredible cake? The Cake Lady Custom Cakes created a wonderful three-flavored cake just for us, which was beautiful.
The logistics of a major wedding have to begin months before the big day. Our Now and Forever wedding of choice this year took place in Fort Pierce, celebrating Allyson Sue Hayes and William Gardner Steven Lyshon. I fell in love with this couple who met in high school, went their own ways to explore the world and then reconnected and fell in love.
We are also showcasing a list of vendors for your perfect day in our wedding directory as well as in “Perfect Presents,” featuring local items from around town and beyond for your wedding gift needs, curated by our very own Kayla Walsh.
We hope you enjoy our hair feature on page 33. We love the looks Wave Hair Color and Design Studio created that were brought to life by Aviana Shapiro and photographer Haley “Lee” McCartney. Send us photos of your bridal hair if this team inspired your wedding day look, or call them for a consultation for your big day!
We are wishing the future brides and grooms all the best. Once in a while in the middle of ordinary life, love gives you a fairy tale.
