When It Comes To Business, These Companies And Powerful Women Know A Thing Or Two About Success
From spectacular end-of-year parties to insurance benefits and work/life balance, we bring you the first-ever “Best Company Perks” issue. Our first go ahead involved phone calls and internet searches, along with detailed responses and help from our interns, Kelly Capen and Gillie Muller from the University of Central Florida and Florida State University. The nearly 100 organizations on our list (page 64) couldn’t begin to honor all of the great companies in our area, but, just like your first job, it’s a start.
On our list are companies who create nurturing environments, provide Dale Carnegie training, and demonstrate employee appreciation through luncheons and barbecues in hangers to watch the Stuart Air Show. We explored workplace themes and discovered longevity as a big factor—we were surprised at our list of long-time employees.
On the topic of extended commitments, the seven professionals featured in “The Right Women for the Job” by Ike Crumpler (page 56) know dedication. From council members to police chiefs to real estate executives, they pave the way for local women as prominent community figures.
We can’t think of a better way to celebrate the end to our 2014-2015 season than to acknowledge what keeps Stuart going—thriving businesses and those at their forefronts. Our own staff and our plans for the future are growing, too. We look forward to an exciting 2015-2016 season, which we will kick off with our first-ever October issue.
Be sure to contact us to nominate your business for our next companies with perks roundup. We have a great list to build from for 2016.
Have a great summer, and we’ll see you in the fall!
