The Humane Society of the Treasure Coast (HSTC) would like to recognize the faces of its entire Community Outreach Team. These are the faces of the shelter who work tirelessly behind the scenes to see the organization’s mission through: to provide compassionate care and nurture the bond between people and pets.
Founded in 1955, HSTC is the only open access, no-kill animal welfare organization operating in Martin County. HSTC accepts all animals regardless of health, age, temperament, or breed. Over the years, thousands of animals have received care through HSTC’s programs and services.
With over 2,000 pets being rehomed annually through aggressive adoption programs and other services, HSTC has joined leading shelters around the state and country as a model organization for lifesaving culture change in its community.
The Community Outreach team helps accomplish the HSTC’s mission by dedicating themselves to recruiting new volunteers, fostering strong relationships with donors, creating meaningful community partnerships, and expanding corporate relationships. They are also involved with educating the public through comprehensive training, providing therapeutic benefits with certified pet-therapy animals and planning special events on behalf of the HSTC.
The team continues to grow as a diverse group of professionals who bring a wealth of experience from various areas, backgrounds and lifestyles. Because of their kind and compassionate hearts, all these individuals have adopted or fostered some of the HSTC’s shelter animals through the years. The Community Outreach team is dedicated to making a positive impact on our community for both animals and humans alike.
