Q&A with Karina Premerlani

Owner, Kaycee’s Bridal

What’s the biggest mistake brides make when shopping for a wedding dress?

Waiting too long to shop.  It takes several months to receive special order dresses, and you’ll want to have a few months for alterations as well.  We recommend shopping 9-12 months ahead of your wedding to find the perfect dress.

What’s one thing brides worry about that they really shouldn’t?

Other peoples’ opinions of which dress you should choose.  Don’t let anyone talk you out of a dress that you truly love and feel beautiful in.

How do you know when you’ve found the dress?

Once you find the dress you won’t want to take it off!  Not all brides cry or have an overwhelmingly emotional moment. You will feel confident, beautiful and picture yourself walking down the aisle in that dress.

Get to Know Ian Pinder

Head Grower, Pinder’s Nursery

Ian Pinder has plant life in his roots. A third-generation member of the family behind Pinder’s Nursery, he manages production, overseeing the thousands of plants grown on-site before they reach the retail garden center. His advice for home gardeners is the same principle that guides his own work: Be observant. “Spend time really looking at your plants, not just glancing at them,” he says. “Pay attention to new growth, leaf color, moisture, insects, weather, and any recent changes in the landscape.” Pinder urges gardeners to consider the full picture. “Plants are constantly giving us clues,” he says. “The more observant you become, the better gardener you’ll be.”
