Danita DeHaney is driving a bold vision of community transformation—and Martin County is at the heart of that work. In 1991, a generous bequest opened the door for the Community Foundation to expand north into a county experiencing great need—and that commitment has never wavered. For more than three decades, the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties has been the go-to resource for giving where you live, connecting local donors with the nonprofi ts making a difference in their own backyard. Under DeHaney’s leadership—now in her sixth year as president and CEO—the Community Foundation continues to deepen its roots in Martin County, making grants and scholarships that shore up the nonprofi t sector and opening doors for aspiring students. “Martin County has grown tremendously since we fi rst expanded here in 1991, and so has our commitment to its needs,” DeHaney says. “Our mission is simple but powerful: to connect generosity with those needs, and to do it in ways that make a lasting difference for everyone who calls this corner of paradise home.”
