The Humane Society of the Treasure Coast (HSTC) is proud to recognize the thrift store team and its crucial role supporting the shelter’s lifesaving and life-enhancing programs, which directly benefit homeless animals in the community.
Pictured here are (left to right) Kelly Ellis, Sacha Freeman, Keith Ransford, Jeyli Diaz (with Milo the dog who was adopted from HSTC), Breanna Zopff, and Nicholas Gray. They are the hardworking individuals who represent HSTC every day through their compassion, professionalism, and commitment to the cause.
HSTC operates two thrift store locations in Stuart where every purchase and donation helps provide food, medical care, shelter, enrichment, and second chances for the thousands of animals that come through HSTC’s doors each year.
For decades, HSTC’s thrift stores have generated critical revenue for the shelter, funding more than 20 percent of its annual operating budget.
The stores also serve as HSTC adoption centers, providing additional opportunities for shelter pets to fi nd loving families while introducing more people to HSTC. This year alone, more than 200 cats have found their forever homes through the thrift stores. So many customers arrive searching for the perfect piece for their home and leave with something even better, a new feline companion.
Whether they’re assisting shoppers, accepting donations, helping volunteers, or caring for kitties, this remarkable team serves as an extension of the shelter and its mission.
The thrift store team’s dedication helps provide vital resources and services for both pets and people throughout the community by transforming donated goods into hope, healing, and happy endings for homeless animals.
