What started as a seed planted by Cristina Pardo in 1997 has grown into a flourishing family business in Palm City. Blooming Freedom, a wholesale delivery plant service and 5-acre garden center, marks its twenty-fifth anniversary this year and has been passed down to the next generation. Pardo’s daughter, Linda Gallucci, and Gallucci’s husband, Nick, now lead the business and have recently completed a rebrand with the help of the family team (which includes Pardo and her mother, husband, and niece).

An oasis for wholesalers and retail customers alike, Blooming Freedom specializes in orchids, bromeliads, and succulents and offers wholesale plants via a boutique truck that travels to florists throughout South Florida. “Clients say it’s an experience,” says Gallucci. “It’s not just a truck with trays of plants everywhere. Everything is aesthetically organized by color and size.” Last fall, the Galluccis launched an on-site community market with local vendors, which they plan to host on a regular basis, setting the foundation for Blooming Freedom’s future. “I want to expand it into a mini venue,” says Gallucci. “We’ll be a place where people come not only to find plants they love, but also to host micro weddings, baby showers, and other events.”
